 So, Here is a list of Ms Power point shortcut keys which will make your work easy and save you a lot of time. 

1. F5 -  For starting slideshow from first slide.

2. Shift + F5 - For starting slideshow from the current slide. 

3. CTRL + M - For opening/inserting new slide.  

4. CTRL + N - For opening new presentation files. 

5. CTRL + W - For closing power point presentation.  

6. CTRL + P - For printing power point presentation.

7. Alt + F4  - For closing power point program.

8. CTRL + Shift + G - For grouping selected objects.

9. CTRL + Shift + H - For removing group option from selected objects.

10. CTRL + Shift + J - For regroup objects.

11. CTRL + Backspace - For deleting text on cursor's left side.

12. CTRL + Delete - For deleting text on cursor's right side.

13. Esc - For ending slide show in power point. 

Terminologies related to Ms Power point -

Following are the terminologies which will help you to understand more about Ms Power point.

  • Slide - Slide is the individual page of our presentation. We can design slides with different titles, graphics, text , and etc.
  • Presentation - All the slides, from start to finish, that you show to your audience. Sometimes, presentations are also called as "slide shows". Presentation are saved in presentation files. The extension of a PowerPoint presentation is  .pptx .
  • Notes - Printed pages that the speaker write and print so that you know what to say during a presentation. Only the speaker can see the notes.
  • Handouts - Printed pages that you may give to the audience after a presentation. A handout shows the slides in the presentation.
After starting MS PowerPoint, you will get the following window - 

The various parts of the above figure are discussed below:

1.Title bar contains some commonly used commands.
2.Quick Access Toolbar contains commonly used icons that give you quick access to PowerPoint features. The default icons are Save, Undo, and Redo. You may customize the quick access toolbar to include other PowerPoint Commands that you use most often .
3.Current slide is the slide that you are working upon for the presentation.
4.Ribbon contains icons that provide access to various PowerPoint  commands related to the active tab. Ribbons are divided into groups. Each group has a group name at the bottom of rectangle.
5.Slides/outline Pane allows you toggle between a text outline view of slide presentation and a thumbnail view.
6.Status Bar displays the slide number and the total number of slides in the presentation . It also displays the theme used to create the presentation.
7.Notes Pane allows you to type notes for rthe active slide. Any typed notes will appear when you print out Notes Pages for your presentation.
8.View Buttons click these buttons to easily switch between the three views - Normal, Slide Sorter and Slide Show.
